There was an emergency item added to the agenda for this meeting, concerning Rydens Way. Thamesway limited, a company that is owned by Woking BC, has purchased the land on Rydens Way, from the William Lacey Group, for more than £850,000.
This at first glance seems to be inconsistent with what the elected body of Councillors wanted, and it seems that most were completely in the dark over this matter!
Residents will remember that the planning committee unanimously rejected the most recent planning apllication to build 42 dwellings on Rydens Way, only for it to be over-turned on appeal by a Planning Inspector.
The Executive are due to revisit this matter at their next meeting!
We urge residents to voice their opinions on these important matters and to attend the public meeting at the Civic Offices in Woking. Surely the Council should be fully supporting the residents' wishes to register the Green?
Oh..for those who are interested..fide et diligentia, as seen on the Woking BC coat of arms, means "by faith and diligence", perhaps the Council should act on its own motto?

The AGM was held on Monday 28th March 2011 at 7:30pm, at the Old Woking Community Centre.
Thank you for such a massive turnout and for putting your views across in such a clear way!
